The Great Indoors Award is an international, biennial, interior design award. Edition 2011: IN BETWEEN sees an unexpected quality in the dynamic element of interiors and wants to reflect on the importance of temporal solutions in a period of economic stagnancy, growing vacancy and the need for durable solutions.
This temporality is reflected in the design by the use of only paper as material. One kilometer of paper is designed and used in the interior, as a reference to wallpaper and the constant change in identity. The action of tearing the paper comes back in the interior as well as in the award show itself.
